What is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer is the type of cancer which is related to the uterus. The cervix which is the lowest part of the uterus and is in between uterus and vagina, it gets infected in the Cervical Cancer. Because of the growth of the abnormal cells in the Cervix, the Cervical Cancer is caused. These cells keep growing and multiplying, which increases the risk more and more. If the Cervical Cancer is not detected at the right time or right stage, then it can become life- threatening as well. The risk of cervical cancer is such that it can even spread to other body parts as well.

Causes of Cervical Cancer

There are many causes of Cervical Cancer. And people should be aware of these causes to save themselves from the risk of Cervical Cancer.

Smoking

---

Smoking is in any case injurious to our health. And it can cause different types of cancers. Cervical cancer is one of those cancers, caused by the Smoking.

Contraceptive Pills or Birth Control Pills

---

The regular use of some of the birth control pills can also cause the Cervical Cancer. So, we suggest women not to use it for the long term.

Delivering child at a young age

---

Many of us are not aware of this fact, that the girls who get pregnant at a very young age that is around 18 or 19, and deliver their child at this age, are also at the risk of developing Cervical Cancer.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

---

This is a virus which gets sexually transmitted and is responsible for causing Cervical Cancer. Among the different types of HPV’s, there are around 13 HPV’s responsible for Cervical Cancer.
